Rules
and Regulations 2007
The slide Evaluation/Critique program for the Camera Club will consist of two
major types of entries: a “Traditional Slide” Evaluation/Critique and a
“Digital Slide” Evaluation/Critique. The Evaluations will be held seven (7)
times a year with two (2) traditional and five (5) digital slide evaluations. The
schedule and dates for each of the evaluations will be posted on the bulletin
board and our website (lwcameraclub.com). The months will not necessarily
alternate so check the schedule regularly.
Traditional
Slides
For the “Traditional Slide” evaluations there will be two Divisions: One and
Two. Members will be assigned to one of the divisions based on their previous
year’s average score and the number of slides entered in that year. Division
One will have the higher average scores. A list of the members for each division
will be posted in the CH4 photo lab and will also be available at each
evaluation. For each
Evaluation/Critique a member may enter three slides of any subject. The slides
should not have been entered previously and all newly entered slides must be
materially different from previous entries such that a casual observer would
recognize it as being entirely different. If a slide receives a score of less
than eight (8) it may be re-entered at any time in Divisions One or Two. At each
Evaluation/Critique awards will be given for First, Second and Third place.
At each “Traditional Slide” evaluation there will also be a separate
Evaluation/Critique for a “Special Selected Subject” for the evening. Two
slides may be entered into this Evaluation/Critique with no regard to membership
in one of the divisions above. The Subjects will be announced and posted well in
advance. Slides entered into this evaluation may not have been entered into any
previous evaluation, regardless of score. Awards
of First, Second and Third will also be given with emphasis on matching the
theme of the subject.
In November there will be a Year End Slide Evaluation. Each member may enter up
to four (4) slides that were entered in that year’s “Traditional Slide
Evaluation Divisions One or Two.” A closed judging will be held on the third
Saturday of November and First, Second and
Third Place
awards will be given at the Annual Holiday Dinner.
